About The Position

About Fira Health Fira Health builds AI-native infrastructure to automate the administrative backbone of healthcare. We’re starting with home health, helping agencies reduce overhead, accelerate payments, and focus more on care—not paperwork. Our agentic AI platform integrates directly into providers’ operations, automating complex workflows like insurance verification, prior authorization, and billing. Fira is backed by top-tier investors and built by a team with deep expertise across healthcare operations, applied AI, and complex workflow automation. About the Role We’re hiring our first Engineering Manager to lead and scale the core systems that power Fira Health’s AI-driven platform. In this role, you’ll guide a team of sharp, mission-aligned engineers, influence technical strategy, and work closely with Operations to ship solutions that drive real-world impact for healthcare providers. This role is ideal for an engineering leader who enjoys being close to the code, thrives in fast-moving environments, and is energized by the opportunity to shape both technical systems and team culture from the ground up.

  • If you have additional experience, talk to us about Director-level or other engineering leadership roles.
  • Strong grasp of systems architecture, performance optimization, and reliability engineering
  • Ability to navigate trade-offs between speed, quality, and business value in an early-stage environment
  • Customer- and user-oriented mindset, with an ability to think beyond technical correctness to how features are experienced, adopted, and used in real-world workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical decisions, align stakeholders, and collaborate effectively cross-team

Nice To Haves

  • Grow, support, and lead a high-performing engineering team , setting clear expectations and developing a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
  • Support engineers’ growth through coaching, feedback, and clear development paths , while leading by example as a technical mentor
  • You set clear technical direction, make smart trade-offs, and ensure the systems we build today can support the scale and complexity of tomorrow
  • Own architectural direction and technical decision-making , balancing speed, quality, and long-term scalability
  • Define and drive the technical roadmap , ensuring alignment with company priorities and customer needs
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical debt, infra challenges, and bottlenecks as we scale our platform and team
  • You work closely with ops and product to ship solutions that are both technically sound and deeply aligned with user needs — all while raising the bar on engineering excellence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations to translate real-world workflows into scalable, AI-powered product experiences
  • Establish engineering best practices around code quality, testing, monitoring, and deployment in a fast-paced environment
