About The Position

As an Engineering Manager at Westgate Resorts , you will be responsible for leading and managing the Engineering Department. With your solid technical knowledge and leadership skills, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, maintaining high guest satisfaction standards and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance leadership experience in a resort or commercial environment.
  • High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred.
  • Preferred licenses or certifications in key trades such as refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical.
  • OSHA safety certification is preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Must be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift 50+lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive and service-oriented manner
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid FL State Driver’s License to drive company golf carts.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the strategic vision of the Engineering Department in alignment with overall resort goals and lead major capital projects.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the maintenance team.
  • Ensure safety by implementing and enforcing protocols, conducting regular inspections, and addressing hazards.
  • Assist in managing departmental budgets, including forecasting, capital planning, and profit & loss reviews.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize maintenance programs, procedures, and schedules for operational efficiency.
  • Oversee vendor, contractor, and supplier relationships, and manage procurement and inventory of tools and materials.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, HotSOS, and technical documents (e.g., blueprints, manuals) to support departmental functions.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks, use various tools and equipment, and maintain professional conduct per resort policies.
