About The Position

The Engineering Manager supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing the maintenance and operation of all hotel equipment, systems, and building components. This role helps ensure the property is maintained in a safe, efficient, and operationally sound condition for guests and team members.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of maintenance or facilities experience, ideally in hospitality, property management, or commercial buildings
  • Working knowledge of basic repair disciplines (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting)
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, safety standards, and preventative maintenance
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity while in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must have a positive attitude and have a team mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Opera or other hotel PMS system is a plus
  • Basic IT abilities are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support and help manage the hotel’s comprehensive maintenance program, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, preventive maintenance, guest rooms, air handling units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, electrical substations, exhaust systems, and related infrastructure
  • Ensure prompt, effective response to maintenance requests and service issues
  • Collaborate closely with Housekeeping, Guest Services, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize guest disruption
  • Assist with assigning work to technicians and monitoring timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and minor repairs including painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC work, and general facility upkeep using appropriate tools
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance such as checking motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and equipment performance
  • Perform select repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen, and minor laundry equipment as needed
  • Support compliance with all applicable safety, health, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including proper documentation and management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Communicate major repair needs, system upgrades, or equipment concerns to the Chief Engineer in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and equipment serviced
  • Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication with colleagues and other departments
  • Respond to guest inquiries related to hotel services and local area information in a courteous and professional manner
  • Protect confidential guest and proprietary information in accordance with company policies
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
