The mission of the Platform Product Group engineers is to build a trusted, scalable and compliant platform to operate with speed, efficiency and quality. Our teams build and maintain the platforms critical to the existence of Coinbase. There are many teams that make up this group which include Product Foundations (i.e. Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure). The Coinbase Travel Rule Platform Engineering Team's mission is to make TRUST the industry-leading Crypto Travel Rule solution to provide comprehensive compliance across the crypto industry and maintain robust protection of customer privacy and security. You will lead the Coinbase Travel Rule team focused on building the end-to-end experience, by providing world class user experience using frontend technologies and building the backend services using micro services architecture. You’ll lead the multi-year roadmap for making engineering and platform development at Coinbase a joy. To help drive this roadmap, you’ll embed with our product teams and listen to their customer needs, working together to accelerate their efforts.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
You possess a strong understanding of what constitutes high-quality code and effective software engineering processes, creating an environment that fosters these principles.
An execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.
An ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
Experience in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
You can be hands-on when needed – whether that’s writing/reviewing code or technical documents, participating in on-call rotations and leading incidents, or triaging/troubleshooting bugs.
Your passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together drives you to excel in this role.

You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems.
You’ve some exposure to online fraud prevention systems or built them in the past.

Implement the multi-year strategy for Risk engineering with the technical leadership on your team.
