The mission of the Platform Product Group engineers is to build a trusted, scalable and compliant platform to operate with speed, efficiency and quality. Our teams build and maintain the platforms critical to the existence of Coinbase. There are many teams that make up this group which include Product Foundations (i.e. Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure). The Coinbase Travel Rule Platform Engineering Team's mission is to make TRUST the industry-leading Crypto Travel Rule solution to provide comprehensive compliance across the crypto industry and maintain robust protection of customer privacy and security. You will join the Coinbase Travel rule team focused on building the end-to-end experience, by providing world class user experience using frontend technologies and building the backend services using micro services architecture. You’ll lead the multi-year roadmap for making engineering and platform development at Coinbase a joy. To help drive this roadmap, you’ll embed with our product teams and listen to their customer needs, working together to accelerate their efforts.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in software engineering
You’ve experienced architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together

Nice To Haves

You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems.
You’ve some exposure to online fraud prevention systems or built them in the past.
You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers)
You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
You’ve worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres
You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems
Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop distributed systems
Provide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise
Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
Design and implement foundational infrastructure components used by every engineering team in production (e.g. dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration, etc)
Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers
