We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and scaling systems that power Robinhood’s global product expansion. You will own a critical product and engineering surface within the International organization, partnering closely with cross-functional leaders to deliver robust, scalable, and localized experiences for customers around the world. As part of the International Engineering team, you will play a key role in executing Robinhood’s global strategy by building reliable systems and driving high-quality technical execution in a fast-moving environment. This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 4 days per week.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6–9 years of software engineering experience, including 1+ years of experience managing engineers, with a track record of supporting performance and career development
  • Technical strength: Solid foundation in distributed systems and backend architecture; able to engage in technical discussions and guide design decisions.
  • Execution track record: Proven ability to deliver complex projects from inception to production with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working closely with product and design to ship customer-facing features.
  • Communication: Clear and structured communicator who can align stakeholders and drive decisions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing team: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, setting a high bar for execution, ownership, and technical quality.
  • Own team execution: Drive delivery of complex projects end-to-end, ensuring clear prioritization, predictable execution, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with product, design, data, and partner engineering teams to translate business goals into actionable plans.
  • Contribute to technical direction: Guide system design and architecture decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Raise the engineering bar: Establish strong engineering practices across code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Hire and develop talent: Actively recruit and retain top engineers, and support their growth through coaching and performance management.
  • Operate with ownership: Identify gaps, resolve ambiguity, and drive initiatives forward with a strong sense of accountability.
