About The Position

We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to build the next generation of our Identity Enterprise platform. You will be responsible for leading multiple teams within Identity Engineering. Your role involves designing, implementing, and running critical tier 0 services for the company. We’re looking for a seasoned leader who can work effectively with product management and engineering leaders within the company and build a high quality platform. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with attention to detail and a relentless drive for quality. They should be able to strike a balance between short term needs and long term objectives. They should also be able to build and motivate high performing teams, and be generous listeners to their team members and peers alike. The ideal candidate is also strongly aligned with our values. Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman’s scale.
  • 4+ years of experience in people management and building cohesive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and focus on team-orientation. Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and written) with a wide range of people and role versatility.
  • Has a point of view and is comfortable with prior experience in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Good understanding of auth products, protocols, methods (OAuth, SAML, OIDC etc.)
  • Previous experience with User/Team management, role engineering, access control.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the broader vision of Postman and onboard the team to work towards achieving it collaboratively, keeping the highest engineering standards.
  • Identify and own end-to-end problem space (Product features, End User Experience, Technology and business), provide multi-quarter roadmaps to the team, embrace constraints and prioritize effectively.
  • Foster the growth and advancement of the team by engaging in discussions with team members regarding career development, ensuring their progression aligns with the long-term vision and broader business requirements.
  • Comprehend and highlight the critical importance to the business, define and take ownership of the roadmap, project milestones, and effectively communicate key information to stakeholders.
  • Plan and lead the IAM standard initiatives and protocols such as OAuth2.0, OIDC, SCIM, SAML and so on. Involve in the research areas such as role engineering and implement the standardized formats meeting cross-functional RBAC needs for the platform.
  • Empower the product with seamless, secure and reliable methods of customer onboarding by enabling broader integration areas of user and team management.
