The Platform and Devices Engineering Infrastructure and Operations (PDEIO) Fleet Infra Software team powers the software solutions that sustain the lab infrastructure supporting three major platforms within Device and Platforms: Android, Chrome and ChromeOS. The customers also extend into Pixel, Extended Reality (XR), WearOS, Android Auto and TV. The team mission is to enable a fleet infra that’s reliable, resilient, efficient and elastic for Android, Chrome and ChromeOS. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development with Java.
• 3 years of experience with developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with continuous integration, compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.
• Experience with Go, SQL, Data Processing, Google Kubernetes Engine.

Responsibilities

• Lead the outlook, strategy, and prioritization across the area of Android test execution and orchestration, exercising an understanding of test infra directions and associated architectures.
• Manage a group of Software Engineers working on Android test execution and orchestration framework, fostering their growth and career development.
• Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders on Android/Aluminium/Pixel and Platform and Devices Engineering Infrastructure and Operations (PDEIO) engineering teams, collaborators within PDEIO infra teams, and partners across Google (e.g., Core) on test execution and orchestration-related topics, acting as a liaison with technical insights.
• Drive innovation across team on infra reliability, efficiency and scalability improvements.
• Lead the team in cross-PDEIO infra convergence efforts.
