About The Position

This role will be based in Mountain View, CA. You will help guide a team of engineers in developing LinkedIn’s next generation UI frameworks. We are looking for people with a passion for UI, and eye for design and attention to accessibility. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. We are a fast growing team of UI developers working on LinkedIn’s foundational UI framework shared across the company. The team has a wide range of expertise and experience. You’ll get to work with and manage Android, iOS and Web developers ranging from Interns to Staff Engineers.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
  • 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
  • Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages(e.g. JavaScript, java, objective-c, swift, kotlin)

Nice To Haves

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
  • 7+ years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
  • 5+ years programming experience in languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, React, Swift UI
  • Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications
  • Successful track record of managing teams of 8-10 engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
  • Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps
  • Hire and retain world-class engineers by providing career growth, mentoring, and high impact projects, while taking intelligent risks to improve the way work is done

Responsibilities

  • You will manage the performance and career development of a team of Web, Android and iOS engineers, and co-own significant parts of LinkedIn infrastructure that require design, architecture, and coding.
  • You will participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap.
  • You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
  • You will work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
  • You will manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
  • You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
  • You will produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

  • The pay range for this role is $152,000 - $248,000.
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
  • This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
  • The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
