About The Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a highly skilled engineering team focused on enterprise-grade security solutions for large-scale clients. You will guide the development of secure, scalable, and low-friction authentication, authorization, and identity systems, influencing both architecture and delivery standards. The position blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring collaboration across Product, Security, SRE, and stakeholder teams. You will define engineering practices, implement modern authentication flows, and integrate identity management automation while leveraging Rust and other cutting-edge technologies. This is a strategic, high-impact role where your work directly shapes the security and reliability of critical enterprise systems. The environment is fast-paced, remote-first, and centered on delivering measurable outcomes for enterprise clients.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering backend systems.
  • 2+ years of hands-on engineering management experience leading teams of 4-8 engineers.
  • Expertise in security-sensitive backend systems, including authentication, authorization, identity, permissions, and auditability.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security standards and integrations, including SSO, OIDC, SAML.
  • Direct production experience with Rust.
  • Proven ability to manage delivery and operations of multi-tenant backend systems in production.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for solving complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor an engineering team building client-facing enterprise security features and reusable capabilities across platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure libraries and microservices, primarily in Rust.
  • Deliver enterprise authentication flows and bring-your-own IdP integrations (SSO, OIDC, SAML).
  • Build provisioning and access automation capabilities (e.g., SCIM) integrated with organization and permissioning stacks.
  • Establish engineering standards, drive complex system development, and ensure high-quality code, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, SRE, and stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize production systems for performance, security, and scalability.
