Engineering CoOps are given opportunities to develop and apply their engineering knowledge in a real working process to further sharpen their skills and reinforce their academic learning. Each work term begins with a description of their work assignments. Their work is guided and mentored by a Senior Plant Engineer and/or Technical Manager. They are also given opportunities to work with other engineers and managers to broaden their plant experience. They will be expected to: Collaborate with safety, operations, and contractors for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs Ability to obey all safety rules and identify safety problems. Strong computer aptitude, knowledge of various Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) Capable of working with others and independently when required. Creation and updating of PIDs, Iso’s, electrical one-line, or other drawings as directed. Ability to clearly communicate information to all groups (engineers, operations, contractors) Lead / participate in meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of developing their engineering knowledge and sharpening their skills in a real working process. These duties could be related but not limited to: Process Equipment Design Piping Design Mechanical Reliability Mechanical Integrity Process Optimization Ability to adapt to shifting plant or project priorities.
