The Engineering Intern will learn the fundamentals of project management while supporting operational improvement projects within the facility. This role provides hands-on experience in planning projects, tracking time lines, organizing tasks, and communicating progress with team members. Working alongside the engineering team, the intern will assist with projects focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, and overall plant performance. The position is designed to build a strong understanding of how projects are structured, managed, and successfully completed in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Rising Juniors or Seniors pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Excel data analysis skills are a plus.
  • Attention to detail with structured thinking and methodical documentation skills.
  • Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Professional attitude and willingness to learn
  • Desire to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and organizing operational improvement projects.
  • Help define project scope, time lines, and key milestones.
  • Track project progress and update status reports.
  • Coordinate meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items.
  • Communicate project updates to engineering and operations teams.
  • Collect and analyze data to support improvement efforts.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities related to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support documentation updates, including work instructions and process changes.
  • Assist with implementing process improvements on the production floor.
  • Help ensure projects are completed on time and aligned with plant goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
