Engineering Intern Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defense industries, is now recruiting for its 2026 Engineering Internship Program. Our team is looking for an Engineering Intern to join them. You will report to the Director, Engineering, and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, NC. To be considered for the Engineering Intern opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Fundamental knowledge of aerospace principles and engineering design. Experience with or coursework in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced setting. A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the aerospace industry.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Project Support: Assist engineering teams with research, design, and development tasks related to aerospace systems and components.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of technical documentation, including CAD drawings, design reports, and test protocols.
  • Technical Analysis: Support tasks involving CAD modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Testing & Validation: Assist in planning and executing experiments and tests to validate design concepts and performance metrics.
  • Help troubleshoot and document results from test activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend engineering meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to support project objectives.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on aerospace industry trends, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices.
  • Engage in mentorship and training opportunities provided by the team.
