About The Position

Met Weld International (MWI) is a leading provider of engineered skid-mounted process systems and industrial controls for various sectors including power generation, oil & gas, nuclear, industrial, and NavSea. With over 35 years of experience, MWI offers integrated design, engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication services globally, ensuring high quality through its manufacturing facility and Quality Assurance Programs. MWI is seeking a mechanical or electrical intern for the 2026 spring semester to join its Engineering Department.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university Engineering Program.
  • Hands-on individual with a strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of technical drawing, blueprint reading, and design principles.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking.
  • Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful and organized in a multi-functional role.
  • Solid communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

  • Inventor and AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and revise drawings as needed based on feedback from engineers, internal customer requests, customers, or project managers.
  • Maintain and organize drawing files, records, and design documentation.
  • Verify measurements and specifications to ensure drawings are accurate and complete.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of Business objectives and plans.
