About The Position

To assist in the efficient and safe operation of the building’s physical appearance and fixtures to ensure the successful operation of the hotel. Directly respond to guest/employee engineering needs.  Individual will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's indoor and outside walls, conducting walks throughout the property, identifying damages that need to be addressed and repaired.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of training, or equal experience in one of the trades

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality-related field a BIG plus!
  • Multi-lingual a BIG plus! What languages? You name it, we probably got it
  • One (1) year experience as a painter
  • Prior engineering experience in a hotel or high-rise building

Responsibilities

  • Be able to communicate effectively to all guests and other departments
  • Help in training new crewmembers to meet department responsibilities
  • Respond all incoming calls, guest requests, and radio calls professionally, efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Assist with performing inspections, preventative maintenance schedules and repairs
  • Complete duty engineer daily task sheet, and perform preventative maintenance as-assigned
  • Assist in performing inventories, ordering, and stock control
  • Follow proper procedures in returning all shop tools, ladders and test equipment to its proper area
  • Follow future and established elevator policy
  • Follow proper electrical safety lock-out-tag-out procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of all engineering spaces
  • Maintain a proper engineering and turnover log
  • Assist in maintaining reports and documents
  • Follow guidelines presented in the employee handout book
  • Attend engineering departmental meetings as scheduled
  • Perform other tasks as requested
