About The Position

The Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a structured rotational program designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the business flow, operations, and communication within the Company. The program aims to offer broad exposure to organizational dynamics and critical functions across various departments, including Manufacturing, Materials & Processes, Design Engineering, and Technology Engineering & Maintenance. It also includes brief informational weeks in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Commercial Sales, Finance & IT, and HR & Safety. Upon completion of the 12-month rotation, candidates are expected to be better equipped to operate from a strategic perspective, work collaboratively, and are seen as future leaders and innovators within the organization. The position offers hands-on training necessary for career advancement and value addition.

Requirements

  • All Applicants must comply with ITAR Requirements
  • US Citizens or Permanent Residents only
  • Required to participate in a structured rotational program across departments including Manufacturing; Materials & Processes; Design Engineering; Technology Engineering & Maintenance, with informational weeks in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Commercial Sales, Finance & IT, and HR & Safety

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating the importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy to the success of the company
  • Demonstrating the importance of the Weber Metals Quality Policy to the success of the company
  • Demonstrating the knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Environmental Policy
  • Demonstrating the knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Business Management System
  • Working in a cross-functional team environment to meet targeted goals & objectives
  • Attending industry seminars/conferences and providing trip reports to demonstrate participation and report on new information
  • Submitting weekly logs (no later than 9:00 am each Monday) for the previous week's activities, describing work activities, academic relation to EDP, accomplishments, challenges, problems, solutions, and any issues or concerns
  • Submitting an end of assignment report during the final week of each rotation to summarize the specific rotation experience, including key lessons learned and how knowledge gained could be useful/integrated in future rotations
  • Submitting a final report at the end of the EDP experience during the final week of the rotation, including a summary of projects completed, lessons learned, obstacles overcome, most valuable takeaway, and how the experience could have been strengthened/more meaningful
  • Presenting a completed strategic, long-term project (Weber or forging related) to the executive team summarizing the project using the DMAIC process at the end of the rotation prior to graduation
