About The Position

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing an engineering degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or other related field. The Design Quality Engineering team is based in Naples, FL and provides expertise in risk management, product quality, process control, verification & validation (V&V), and continuous improvement. Design Quality Engineers incorporate quality methods and tools, including applied statistics and external standards, to design experiments, develop test protocols, conduct investigations, and improve products and processes. The individual chosen for this position will assist in these activities as a part of New Product Introduction, Sustaining Activities, and Non-conformance Investigations. Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™. This co-op will run from July 2026 – December 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an engineering degree or a recent graduate within the last six months. Junior or above, studying Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering field, preferred.(Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing and possess the ability to work through technical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred.
  • Prior knowledge or experience with FDA/ISO regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation, mechanical testing equipment, PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the design quality engineers in reformatting, aligning, defining, and releasing remediated risk management files.
  • Support the team with their new product development and remediation projects, such as, design control documentation, quality plans, PPAP development, engineering change reviews, and documentation change reviews.
  • Support lab improvement efforts to increase lab efficiency (i.e. updating SOPs, work instructions, etc)
  • Other duties as assigned.
