About The Position

This role requires not only solid knowledge of the software tools deployed (setup and administration background) but also the IT environment required to support Projects. The candidate must be highly motivated, innovative, possess good problem solving and communication skills and be capable of thinking outside the box. The Engineering Applications Support Specialist will be assigned to Digiteam, domain Engineering Applications Support. Primary focus is aimed at the use, knowledge and support of applications of main engineering software vendors available in the market (Hexagon, AVEVA, Autodesk, Bentley, Ansys, Aspentech, Schneider, others). Reporting to Digiteam, Engineering Applications Support technical leaders, scope of work includes: Interface with Engineering Disciplines / Functional Application Management and Project Management to ensure required level of support is met Work with Engineering Disciplines / Functional Application Management to define functional architecture of engineering applications, to support Project execution and application integration strategies, also in a multicenter scenario. Contribute to Project IT platform hardware architecture in close collaboration with other I&O disciplines. Manage application global workshares and user requests. Coordinate with Citrix team to support various applications and projects within the Citrix environment. Work with Engineering Disciplines on capacity planning to forecast needs in terms software resources. Contribute to the technical setup of the Project IT platform (Hardware and Software), according to the contract requirements and Technip Energies standards and best practices. Manage account rights for some application according to user profiles. Analyze and troubleshoot high priority application issues. Escalate issues to software vendors, as needed. Maintain updates to the Application CMDB for the concerned part. Ensure that support documentation is made available to L1 support teams and Service Desk. Develop application packaging requirements for new or updated applications, and test developed packages before release with SCCM. L2 Support for all Engineering Application issues, installations & performance/resource monitoring where required. Provide technical support to users, interacting with discipline leaders and superusers. Act as Global L3 support for Engineering Applications when required. Participate as needed to Digiteam initiatives and Engineering Applications Support evolution Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Onshore/Offshore industry software, organization and project execution cycle (phases, methods, tools and deliverables)
  • Preferably 10 years of experience and the minimum of 5 years relevant experience are required. Consideration could be enhanced with experience and background in administration and functional support of some of the listed suites of Engineering Applications as well as previous experience for other EPC contractors.
  • Preferred 10 - 15 years of experience and the minimum relevant 5 years of experience in Engineering Application support like Autodesk, Aveva, Bentley, Hexagon, Aspentech, and other industry specific market leaders….
  • Software License management experience: processes and tools (ie OpenIT)
  • Previous experiences in similar roles for other EPC contractors
  • Major application background
  • Software Setup and Troubleshooting
  • Comfortable with IT Service management practices and tools
  • Usage of ServiceNOW for ticket management
  • Good knowledge with ITIL best practices
  • Flexibility, creativity and personal initiative, ability to tackle challenging projects which require a combination of business, organization and technical skills.
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to adapt and work in multi-cultural working environment.
