JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide hands-on support in the lab for environmental and validation testing activities Assist engineers with test setup, execution, and documentation of functional and environmental tests Perform light fabrication and prototype assembly to support testing and development activities Investigate field return issues by assisting with troubleshooting, analysis, and documentation Collect, record, and manage test data to support engineering analysis and decision-making Maintain lab organization, equipment readiness, and overall operational efficiency Support engineering programs with various technical and administrative tasks to improve team productivity Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate testing and reliable results

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology or related field AND 2+ years of experience
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate strong motivation to support lab and engineering activities
  • Fabricate wiring harnesses based on schematics and documentation, with the ability to work independently and with minimal engineering input
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately
  • Follow environmental test plans, including thermal chambers, pressure vessels, vibration tables, etc.; ability to assist in creating test plans with engineering review is a plus
  • Accurately document test results using Microsoft Word, Excel, or other tools for communication and review by the engineering team
  • Listen and prioritize work requests from multiple engineers, communicating sequence and timing to ensure proper task prioritization
  • Utilize standard hand tools for mechanical assembly and disassembly of electrical and mechanical components
  • Apply light fabrication skills, including sheet metal work or other problem-solving methods, to support lab and project needs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with thermocouple instrumentation; experience supporting thermal evaluation of electronic assemblies is a plus
  • Basic PCB SMT soldering skills or a willingness to learn and develop these capabilities
  • Willingness to learn and follow domestic and international shipping regulations while coordinating with internal teams to support shipping requirements
  • Willingness to learn internal procurement systems to purchase laboratory supplies, including hand tools, consumables, and rental equipment to support team operations
