About The Position

BlueLinx is seeking an Engineered Wood Product Specialist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate is confident in their product and analytical knowledge and comfortable working across the organization, with customers and suppliers. BlueLinx is one of America’s largest distributors of building products, with over 70,000 branded and private-label SKUs. Headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, the company has over 2,000 associates and distributes its comprehensive range of structural and specialty products to approximately 15,000 national, regional, and local dealers, as well as specialty distributors, national home centers, industrial, and manufactured housing customers.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Must have experience in the construction building process (especially floor systems).
  • Proven ability to grow and maintain a large book of business.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Expertise in customer support, inventory management, and consultative sales.

Responsibilities

  • Build lasting client relationships to drive sales and long-term profitability.
  • Identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
  • Optimize profitability, product mix, and inventory turnover for assigned products.
  • Ensure effective product performance while fostering strong customer and supplier relations.
  • Provide sales and technical support, resolving customer service issues.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies and sales solutions.
  • Communicate value propositions and refine sales approaches as needed.
  • Promote existing products and introduce new opportunities to maximize revenue.
  • Monitor sales performance and profitability, crafting strategic pricing models.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including branches, supply chain, and product management.
