Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high quality staff. Executes and manages Process Development goals and strategies. Manages execution of the functional deliverables associated with the TDP/PDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems. Establishes and drives Integrated Business Plan (IBP) deliverables and champions technical excellence for product development. Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources. Works with other managers to understand priorities and plans resources and time allocation accordingly. Ensures compliance to quality system requirements. Champions succession planning by hiring and developing future PD top performers and leaders that can take on key technical and management positions within the organization. Participates in and influences TDP and PDP project development activities. Champions efforts on developing or recognizing, executing and managing key engineering tools and best-demonstrated practices throughout the PD organization. Initiates cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolve technical and systems issues. Develops departmental objectives and metrics and drives execution of them. Partners with R&D and Operations to develop and execute budgets.
