About The Position

Spacesaver is seeking a Paint Line Load/Unload Lead to support our paint line operations and ensure products move through the process safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role is key in coordinating loading and unloading activities to meet customer delivery expectations while maintaining high standards of quality, communication, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2–3 years of relevant experience, or a technical degree with 1–2 years of experience.
  • Passing score on required assessments.
  • Completion of assigned developmental training, classes, and certifications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic PC skills.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and memos in English; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to accurately read tape measures and operate precision measurement tools (calipers, scales, protractors).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time‑management skills with the ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules for loading and unloading the paint line to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain clear, regular communication with team members, Material Coordinators (MCs), Production Coordinators (PCs), and Scheduling regarding exceptions and workflow needs.
  • Ensure quality standards are met, including accurate part counts and adherence to inspection requirements.
  • Follow all Spacesaver safety policies and ergonomic guidelines; maintain awareness of E‑stops and pinch points.
  • Perform Standard Work by following Work/Operator Instructions and training guidelines.
  • Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Meet or exceed departmental production efficiency goals.
  • Practice and support 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
  • Communicate required machine preventative maintenance needs to the PC or Supervisor.
  • Complete tasks based on manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures, scales, and protractors.
  • Perform problem-solving, containment activities, and in‑process documentation for non‑conforming materials.
  • Accurately complete required documentation and records.
  • Support other work areas as needed based on workload.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Use Spacesaver’s ERP system to enter and exit work centers, start/stop shop orders, and report production quantities.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be available for overtime as required.
  • Demonstrate safe behavior at all times.
