About The Position

As a Process Engineer I, you will provide process technical expertise and services focused on enhancing the safety, reliability and profitability of the process units. This position interfaces with all departments throughout the refinery including operations, maintenance, optimization, and technical services. By partnering with stakeholders, the Process Engineer collaborates to build technically sound strategies around business improvement opportunities, safety enhancements and sustainability while reducing cost and maximizing profitability.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 1 or more years of Engineering experience in the Energy industry
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
  • Travel up to 5%
  • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
  • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
  • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
  • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
  • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 3 or more years of experience working as a Process Engineer at a refinery

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the implementation and optimization of industrial processes and equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Analyze data, specify process steps, and help develop engineering solutions that meet cost, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support technical troubleshooting, participate in research activities, and create engineering drawings to communicate and validate ideas.
  • Help draft and evaluate engineering standards, contribute to project management efforts, and design test procedures to ensure robust solutions.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, safety enhancements, and sustainability.
  • Provide technical support for projects, maintenance, and unit operations, including major turnarounds and startups.
  • Play an active role in process safety management activities and maintain key process documentation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and build your capabilities through ongoing learning, staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
