About The Position

Basic Function  Responsible for safely and reliably operating the process units and equipment to meet strategic business goals.  Job Duties  Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed. Recognize hazards and take action to eliminate/mitigate and use Stop Work if necessary. Participate in shift turnover meetings. Pass all D Operator testing, training in Process Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health regulations, basic operator training and perform all D Operator requirements as needed. Work rotating shifts, including weekend and holidays. Work alone on a required portion of the unit. Follow emergency procedures. Communicate effectively and appropriately with operations and other departments in person or via radio and telephone. Behave in a manner that promotes teamwork. Demonstrate a desire for continuous learning. Follow start-up and shut-down policies and procedures. Follow-through on commitments made to others. Create and maintain a neat, clean and well-organized and professional-looking work area. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English fluently and understand operating procedures.
  • Must demonstrate a competency at using a process computer interface to manipulate and control an operating process unit.
  • Successfully complete the SHL Industrial Professional and Skilled Assessment  and COBRA Testing.
  • As a part of the pre-employment selection process, candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from a pre-employment medical screening, background check, and drug tests.
  • With or without reasonable accommodations, be willing to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, walk on high elevation grating, work in inclement weather, work around loud industrial equipment, work in compact and confined spaces, and work outdoors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance required

Nice To Haves

  • College, industrial or prior process operations experience a plus.
  • Computer experience a plus.
