About The Position

The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support the Engineering and Operations teams by analyzing manufacturing processes, conducting time studies, and developing data-driven insights to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost. This role is ideal for a college student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Ability to perform detailed time studies in an active manufacturing environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

Prior internship, co-op, or coursework related to manufacturing or industrial engineering
Power BI proficiency with experience creating dashboards and visualizations
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts
Familiarity with standard work, labor standards, or production metrics

Responsibilities

Conduct time studies and work measurement analyses to establish standard work and labor efficiencies
Observe and document production processes to identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction
Collect, analyze, and organize manufacturing data using Microsoft Excel
Develop and maintain dashboards and visual reports using Power BI to support operational decision-making
Assist with line balancing, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization
Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
Collaborate with production supervisors, engineers, and operators to validate data and implement improvements
Prepare clear documentation, reports, and presentations for leadership review
