About The Position

The Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support the Engineering and Operations teams by analyzing manufacturing processes, conducting time studies, and developing data-driven insights to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost. This role is ideal for a college student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Ability to perform detailed time studies in an active manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, co-op, or coursework related to manufacturing or industrial engineering
  • Power BI proficiency with experience creating dashboards and visualizations
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts
  • Familiarity with standard work, labor standards, or production metrics

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies and work measurement analyses to establish standard work and labor efficiencies
  • Observe and document production processes to identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction
  • Collect, analyze, and organize manufacturing data using Microsoft Excel
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visual reports using Power BI to support operational decision-making
  • Assist with line balancing, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Collaborate with production supervisors, engineers, and operators to validate data and implement improvements
  • Prepare clear documentation, reports, and presentations for leadership review
