Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this entry-level position is responsible for coordinating and supporting engineering activities. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful. • Provides engineering assistance in support of others. • Applies engineering knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction. Job Description: Collaborates in projects within scope, schedule, and cost, under supervision of an engineer licensed in Puerto Rico, Supports and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring basic engineering expertise. Assists and performs engineering tasks and projects associated with a critical or analytical engineering project or a small number of complex projects that require specialized knowledge. Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations. Participates in design activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. Supports development and updating single line diagrams, and design drawings, and equipment specifications, under supervision of a PR PE Supports QA/QC design review. Provides basic technical support to field and construction groups. Utilizes engineering processes and standards. Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management. Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Additional Job Description: Education and Experience BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college. Zero to two years of professional engineering experience. Licenses EIT Certificate issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects. Skills Interpersonal and relationship development skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments. Problem-solving skills with ability to resolve engineering issues. Preferred Qualifications 3.2 GPA or higher. BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college. Master’s degree in engineering. Working knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments. Experience in utility industry trade organizations.
