Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering
  • Relevant internship or 1-4 years’ experience of progressive responsibility in Traffic Engineering (recent grads considered)
  • Ability to work in team environment as an individual contributor
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across multiple projects and deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking, judgment, and experience to define, analyze, and resolve issues

Nice To Haves

  • EIT preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Synchro preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, HCS, and Vissim a plus
  • Familiarity MUTCD, HCM, HSM, and AASHTO a plus
  • Experience with MassDOT standards and deliverables a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior staff on a variety of engineering projects
  • Perform traffic and safety analysis
  • Develop conceptual and final design plans
  • Develop pavement marking, signage, and signal plans, technical specifications, and estimates
  • Prepare design and feasibility reports
  • Conduct field data collection
  • Provide proposal and presentation assistance
  • Work closely with other civil engineering disciplines for multi-disciplinary projects
