Purpose Provides senior-level mechanical engineering expertise for the planning, design, and delivery of mechanical and HVAC systems. Applies advanced engineering judgment to perform complex design calculations, develop construction documents, and oversee project execution. Works independently and collaboratively to deliver quality, code-compliant designs that meet client and project objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural Engineering required.
  • Five or more (5+) years of relevant industry-related experience, in design of commercial, government, academic, R D, high-rise multi-family, industrial and similar projects.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, CHVAC/RHVAC, TraneTrace, and/or eQuest modeling software.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Direction Perform work with limited supervision, exercising independent judgment on complex assignments and engineering decisions.
  • Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles, standards, and practices to assigned tasks.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Review and approve designs and technical documentation for accuracy, compliance, and quality.
  • Serve as a technical resource within project teams and promote best practices.
  • At the Operational and Company Level Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with other disciplines.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Support project planning, including scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Contribute to proposal development and client presentations as a technical expert.
  • Participate in business development and strategic initiatives within the mechanical engineering practice.
  • Do the Work Lead mechanical and HVAC system design tasks in accordance with applicable codes and engineering standards.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, design documentation, and technical reports.
  • Develop mechanical drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
  • Evaluate design alternatives, identify potential conflicts, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews and incorporate revisions as required.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field observations.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to verify design implementation and support project delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
