About The Position

Wafer Manufacturing department has responsibility for enabling faster delivery of RD and Released products a high-volume Wafer manufacturing facility. This enables Seagate's strategy of delivering ever larger capacity storage including next generation HAMR drives to our customers. Come be part of the team in one of the world's most technologically advanced factories. As a Wafer Manufacturing team member, you will lead projects to drive improvements across the site including reducing manufacturing cycle time and enable manufacturing efficiency improvements with a high level of analytical and logical problem-solving ability. Areas of investigation include improving utilization, reducing scrap and yield loss, improving factory cleanliness and overall reducing waste.

Requirements

  • Strong data processing and visualization skills (MS Excel, etc.)
  • Creative problem solving
  • Working across department to solve complex problems
  • BS or higher with an engineering or science major
  • Ability to communicate vertically and horizontally through numerous channels, utilize cross-functional network to complete goals
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with global teams
  • Ability to build relationships and influence cross functional teams
  • Self-starter who can build relationships and use judgement when working with partners to ensure effective outcomes.

  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively with changing business needs

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and analyzing cycle time data
  • Observing and interviewing operators to understand barriers to success
  • Mapping business processes
  • Collecting Stakeholder input to design solutions
  • Implementing solutions in a timely manner
  • Presenting findings and solutions to Management
  • Managing several projects in parallel
