Service Engineers are responsible for engineering activities associated with gas turbine, steam turbine, auxiliary-equipment, and generator technical support, assuring rapid disposition of non-conformance reports (NCRs), engineering support requests (ESRs), evaluation of field issues including data collection and root cause analysis (RCAs) support of gas turbine, steam turbine, auxiliaries, and generator issues. The work encompasses Mitsubishi and non-OEM turbine service support. The Service Engineer works closely with the field service and long-term service groups to identify quality improvements and cost reductions to make Mitsubishi Power parts and services more competitive. The Service Engineer I is an entry level engineering position that requires knowledge of engineering principles and basic experience in the application of principles. In this role, the engineer will demonstrate the capability to perform normal work assignments with initial guidance and training. The engineer will also be given technical assignments of increasing technical difficulty working under the supervision of more senior engineers or management. The service engineer is also expected to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as well as ongoing initiatives such as fleet risk, service product, parts identification, outage planning, and sales support. As this role is part of the service organization hours typically include non-core hours support (evening and weekend), evening alignment calls with Japan engineering teams.
