About The Position

Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Engineer I, Corrosion Control with corrosion control program management experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team! Role Summary: The Engineer I, Corrosion Control is an intermediate-level Engineer role with responsibilities to support the various programs that comprise Buckeye’s Corrosion Control program.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
  • Experience: Typically, 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Special skills: Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes relating to corrosion control management is required.
  • Minimum NACE CP-1 certification, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
  • In order to be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
  • The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.
  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
  • This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • This role continuously operates a computer and other office equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Special skills: Proficiency with SQL, ESRI GIS, PowerBI, FME, Python, R, or other programming languages to perform data analysis is helpful.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification is highly desirable.
  • Training in Hazardous Materials Handling and Confined Space Entry helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Corrosion Control Program Support. Supporting the implementation of Buckeye’s Corrosion Control Programs, including, but not limited to, Receiving and performing quality control of outside consultant reports to ensure reports are in compliance with company standards; Reviewing corrosion control system inspection results with Corrosion Specialists to determine repair options and recommend a repair scope; Participating in failure and metallurgical analyses with corrosion control root causes/implications; Participating in reviews of the Corrosion Control Manual and other relevant manuals.
  • Data Integration & Management . Maintaining Corrosion Control related databases and tracking tools and interfacing with Asset Integrity Programs, GIS, and other corporate programs as required to integrate data in support of the overall Corrosion Control activities.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation . Conducting risk analyses to determine which inspections, repairs, and preventive/mitigative measures may be performed and their timing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement . Communicating critical Corrosion Control program/project concerns related to risk, scope, schedule, cost, etc.
  • Project/Program Management. Managing field execution of Corrosion Control special projects.
  • Department Support. Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.
  • And other duties as assigned.
