About The Position

As an Engineer I – Civil & Structures, you’ll support the design and execution of renewable energy projects including wind, solar, and battery storage. You’ll work closely with Senior Civil & Structures Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to assist with managing third-party engineering firms, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring project designs meet all technical, safety, and quality requirements. STEP INTO THE ROLE Assists the Senior Engineers – Electrical and Senior Project Engineers to support Blattner Internal Engineering and other stakeholders with the project design through project completion. Aligns construction teams to ensure they have the necessary design information, quantities, and specifications to build the projects. Creates designs that satisfy the design life of the power plant by establishing compliance with local, state, and international building codes and company best practices. Create designs that provide the most economical means to satisfy the design life of the power plant. Collaborates across company departments, with outside vendors, suppliers, and technical firms to explore innovative ideas, methods, materials, software, and technologies that save costs, increase efficiency, promote safety, and provide strategic benefits. Establishes safe engineering designs that compliment company, state, and federal safety regulations. Assures projects are designed in compliance with all applicable safety standards including NESC, NEC, NPFA, OSHA, and others.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited college required.

Nice To Haves

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate.
Previous engineering or construction/field related experience in a related industry (i.e., heavy civil, industrial, utilities).
Surveying and renewables-focused experience.
