About The Position

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
  • Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • US Citizenship Required for this Position
  • Clearance Required: Yes- Final Clearance Required to Start

  • Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineering: Familiar with US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Plant Systems and Components to include reactor plant systems, steam and electric plant systems
  • Have good writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Work with multiple customers and organizations, including the US Government and Navy personnel
  • Conduct Reliability Centered Maintenance Analyses that support applicable and effective maintenance strategies to maximize ship mission operational availability while minimizing cost
