Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • 1-4 years of related experience
  • Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
  • Valid Driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Previous intern or coop experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS applications, proficient with MS Office software, and EIT certification are helpful. If working toward EIT, obtain within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Design calculations.
  • Bid documents including specifications and drawings.
  • State, federal, and local permit applications.
  • Perform fieldwork such as surveying, GPS data collection, infrastructure inspections and assessment, water sampling, traffic counts, and construction observation.
  • Contribute to reports describing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions from field efforts.
  • Use technical software to support transportation, wastewater, drinking water or stormwater projects.
  • Use AutoCAD and GIS applications to support planning and design.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for interns.
  • Participate in comprehensive master planning.
  • Assist clients with regulatory compliance.
