About The Position

We are looking for a hotel engineer to join our team! Engineers are responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved. You will respond to guest concerns in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you should possess diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration. This includes basic knowledge of painting, software, hardware, and mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in related field.
  • Experience in technology maintenance is required, cleaning experience preferred.
  • Basic painting experience required.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician is a plus.
  • HVAC, Pool Operator, Electricity, or Plumbing Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to work tickets and guest complaints/concerns in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate to management and staff to ensure guest performance.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to develop and/or implement new systems and solutions as well as products for the hotel.
  • Basic knowledge of, and experience with carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
  • Ability to walk, including climbing stairs, ladders, stand to a significant degree, kneel, reach, bend, handle machinery, lift, feel, talk, hear, and see.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts, switches, and fuses.
  • Ensure upkeep of all fixtures and equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule and record such maintenance in logbook.
  • Service pool and spa areas including testing and recording as stated by State and City regulations.
  • Test and troubleshoot systems, fixing any problems and ensuring the systems meet quality and performance standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness of public areas, internal areas, storage areas, and parking lot.
  • Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
