About The Position

The Energy Saver NC Field Technician & Quality Control Specialist supports North Carolina’s Energy Rebates Programs by conducting quality control inspections and ensuring compliance with program and company standards. This role requires regular in-state travel, strong attention to detail, professionalism in customer interactions, and the ability to work independently in residential field environments. The position reports to the Contractor Relations Manager on the Energy Saver NC team. All required travel and materials expenses, including gas and mileage, are fully reimbursed. This role is well-suited for experienced Weatherization, Home Performance, or Energy Efficiency professionals seeking stable, mission-driven field work with growth potential.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and procedure manuals
  • Comfortable working in field conditions, including attics, crawlspaces, and residential sites
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with data entry and tracking systems/databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to identify process improvements and assist with developing standard operating procedures
  • Working knowledge of basic mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Home or Commercial Performance certifications (BPI, RESNET, or similar)
  • BPI Energy Auditor Certification required

Responsibilities

  • Regularly travel across North Carolina to conduct quality control inspections
  • Perform inspections and reporting on installed energy efficiency measures
  • Navigate and understand basic operating components of HVACR and other residential building systems
  • Ensure compliance with program specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Represent Everblue and its program partners with professionalism and courtesy
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve and scale operations
  • Support program staff with administrative tasks and special projects as needed
