About The Position

As an Energy Marshal, you will oversee and ensure the safe and efficient use of all energy sources on-site. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining compliance, implementing safety protocols, and supporting operational teams throughout the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • NFPA 70e Certification.
  • Experience with MV/HV systems and Electrical Testing and Verification.
  • Must be able to mentor and/or train other project staff, such as commissioning - project managers, Commissioning - assistant project managers(s) or other team members. Includes providing guidance to the junior project manager while they manage a project(s) on their own.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain harmonious relationships with owners, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, and community.
  • The new team member should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
  • This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the U.S. but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Data Center experience a plus.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate inspection and testing documents are complete prior to energization of equipment and gear on project sites. Coordinate with QC department.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure energy isolation program is being followed and safe working conditions are maintained throughout project site.
  • Manage routine meetings, participating in High-Risk Activity, to update Project and Operations teams on any issues and progress from Energy Program.
  • Create and manage reports to present to managements teams on updates of energy program.
  • Coordinate with Commissioning Manager to establish commissioning sequences and testing.
  • Work with the site Lock Out/Tag Out program.
  • Conduct Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) inspections before energization.
  • Organize and lead pre-energization meetings and approve all energization steps.
  • Review single-line drawings and confirm all switch positions before activation.
  • Oversee temporary protective grounding/earthing removal and final inspections.
