About The Position

Under direction, establish and coordinate citywide energy and water efficiency initiatives, develop and administer plans for the acquisition of energy and water resources, issue competitive solicitations for energy resources, and negotiate energy and water resource contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Energy Management, Engineering, Architecture, Physics, or a related field, and three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional experience administering an energy-savings plan, monitoring and inspecting energy and water usage, or energy engineering, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by date of appointment.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or Master Energy Manager (MEM), within one (1) year of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer energy and water resources (electric, water, solar, and/or natural gas) plans.
  • Acquire energy resources.
  • Represent the assigned functional organization.
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate programs to optimize economic utilization and resource conservation of power that will satisfy diverse operational requirements.
  • Promote and educate City management and employees in effective energy savings methods.
  • Perform program administration functions.
  • Supervise assigned staff.
