Purpose and Scope: The Energy Management Specialist III shall be responsible for the implementation of a robust energy and water conservation program in support of KSC’s Federal Energy and Water Conservation and Renewable Energy generation goals. The Energy Management Specialist III shall be familiar with Federal guidelines and recommendations for Energy and Water Conservation including goals provided in the latest Executive Orders for Federal Facilities. The Energy Management Specialist III must possess or be able to acquire the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation. Continuous education credits are required to maintain this certification. Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities: Lead the Energy and Water Conservation Program in all aspects of Federal, State, NASAS and company regulations and rules. Conduct facility audits for energy and water conservation measures according to American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards. Develop, submit, and track projects for energy and water conservation measures. Proficiency in Automated Utility Database Reporting & Information System (AUDRIS), energy, and water tracking software. Submit updates to NASA Environmental Tracking System (NETS) quarterly. Develop and maintain Energy and Water Conservation Plan annually. Develop process and procedures to maintain compliance with Electric and Water Conservation (EWC) regulations. Update current policies, procedures, and training annually. Prepare and distribute Electric and Natural Gas monthly meter deviation report. Attend Electric & Water SHARP Team meetings; present (Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) & Water Conservation Measures (WCM) for approval as required. Attend Energy & Water Working Group meetings and take meeting notes and submit for approval and distribution to teams. Develop and issue Facility Comprehensive Evaluations (FCE) Audit reports for individual facilities; perform Energy Star Guiding Principles Checklist. Participate in regulatory agency inspections, NASA internal inspection, audits, and Environmental & Energy Function Review (EEFR). Develop & implement NASA Energy & water Program Manager approved corrective actions to any findings or deficiencies. Maintain inspection results and provide corrective action responses or finding closure documentation within 10 days of inspection. Support outreach activities on center and present energy and water conservation initiatives. Support Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) department in other duties as assigned.
