About The Position

The Endpoint Systems Administrator I is responsible for the administration and operation of Fleet Feet’s endpoint management and security platforms. This role ensures all corporate and retail devices are properly enrolled, monitored, secured, and compliant through centralized systems. This position does not perform hands-on device provisioning or deployment. Instead, it focuses on platform execution, policy enforcement, monitoring, and ensuring that endpoints are correctly configured within managed systems. Approximately 80% of this role is dedicated to endpoint systems administration, with the remaining 20% supporting Level 1 IT service needs. This role reports to the Manager of Infrastructure & Operations and is a key contributor to building a scalable, secure, and compliant endpoint management function. This position is split between the Fleet Feet Store Support Center in Carrboro, NC and the Distribution Center in Durham, NC. Some travel to retail locations may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, endpoint administration, or systems administration
  • Exposure to endpoint management, security, or compliance environments preferred

  • Familiarity with endpoint management and security concepts:
  • Device enrollment
  • Agent deployment and validation
  • Compliance monitoring
  • Patch and policy enforcement
  • Experience with platforms such as:
  • Endpoint protection / EDR tools (e.g., CrowdStrike Falcon, including exposure/vulnerability modules)
  • RMM platforms (e.g., NinjaOne)
  • MDM solutions (e.g., SimpleMDM or similar)
  • Ability to interpret and act on endpoint telemetry and security data
  • Foundational understanding of vulnerability management:
  • CVE lifecycle tracking and remediation coordination
  • Risk prioritization using frameworks such as CVSS and EPSS
  • Exposure identification across managed endpoints
  • Familiarity with security operations concepts:
  • Alert monitoring and basic triage
  • Log analysis and audit evidence collection
  • Incident response support and escalation workflows
  • Basic scripting and automation experience:
  • PowerShell preferred
  • Exposure to Python or similar languages is a plus
  • Understanding of security and compliance frameworks:
  • Exposure to NIST-based frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-30, 800-53)
  • Familiarity with PCI or similar compliance environments
  • Experience with:
  • Endpoint and asset inventory tracking
  • Reporting, dashboards, and metrics generation
  • Documentation of technical processes and audit evidence
  • Security Mindset: Understands how endpoint management impacts organizational risk and security posture
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess vulnerability data and prioritize high-impact remediation
  • Operational Discipline: Executes consistently within defined processes and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Administer and operate endpoint management, security, and monitoring platforms, including:
  • CrowdStrike Falcon (endpoint protection and EDR)
  • NinjaOne (RMM and endpoint monitoring)
  • SimpleMDM (Apple device management)
  • Ensure all endpoints are properly enrolled and maintained within management platforms:
  • Validate device enrollment and agent deployment
  • Ensure required agents, configurations, and policies are consistently applied
  • Monitor endpoint health, performance, and compliance:
  • Respond to alerts, investigate issues, and coordinate remediation
  • Identify devices that fall out of compliance and drive resolution
  • Enforce endpoint security and operational standards:
  • Validate that patching, monitoring, and security controls are operating effectively across managed endpoints and escalate gaps for remediation
  • Partner with IT Support and Infrastructure teams to drive remediation of compliance gaps
  • Support vulnerability and endpoint security processes:
  • Identify, track, and coordinate remediation of endpoint-related risks
  • Assist in risk-based prioritization of vulnerabilities using standard scoring methodologies (e.g., CVSS, EPSS)
  • Manage and maintain device compliance reporting and visibility:
  • Track inventory accuracy across platforms
  • Provide reporting on endpoint status, coverage, and compliance gaps
  • Support PCI compliance efforts:
  • Coordinate and manage external penetration testing activities through the SecurityMetrics platform
  • Track remediation items and ensure timely resolution of findings
  • Maintain audit evidence and documentation required for PCI compliance
  • Develop and maintain documentation:
  • Platform standards, procedures, and runbooks
  • Endpoint compliance and configuration requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, monitoring, and endpoint visibility
  • Provide Level 1 technical support for corporate and retail users:
  • Basic hardware, software, and access-related troubleshooting
  • Support standard service requests
  • Assist with new hire onboarding coordination:
  • Ensure devices are properly enrolled and ready for use
  • Partner with IT Support Technician II for provisioning and setup
  • Utilize helpdesk systems to:
  • Log, track, and resolve tickets
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues and resolutions
  • Escalate issues to appropriate teams when needed
  • Work closely with IT Support (including IT Support Technician II) to ensure proper device setup, enrollment, and standards adherence
  • Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to maintain endpoint compliance and security posture
  • Support cross-functional initiatives related to endpoint management, compliance, and security
