About The Position

The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information Technology or Gaming industry experience preferred and/or two to three years related work experience.
  • The ability to communicate with different levels of users.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s and all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Microsoft Server 2012R2
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Technologies
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including [Firewalls, Active Directory].
  • Intermediate knowledge of local area network administration.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Working knowledge of all the PC software at Hard Rock and virus detection software.
  • Good technical and communication skills.
  • Understanding of application file components, i.e., file structures, file relationships, file contents.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with outside contacts and all levels of team members.
  • Review, comprehend and assimilate reports, information generated on and by the computer and other necessary documentation.
  • Use a computer, keyboard and other equipment associated with the positions.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers required to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, and to handle other computer components.
  • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Install hardware and perform minor repairs as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Gaming industry experience preferred
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred.
  • Prior experience opening new properties/outlets preferred.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunication system is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
  • Maintain and manage software and hardware.
  • Requires the ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly.
  • Ensure that technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Install and configure software and hardware.
  • Manage network servers and technology tools.
  • Set up accounts and workstations.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills experience in large IBM systems such as iSeries and AS/400 environments is key.
  • Basic understanding of database structure, SQL query and analysis tools.
  • Disaster recovery testing, documentation, and problem resolution.
  • Perform problem isolation, definition, resolution and follow-up for system, application and customer problems.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models under the guidance of a Senior Systems Administrator.
  • Create, maintain, and update technical documentation.
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.
