About The Position

The State of Montana has a decentralized human resources (HR) system. Each agency is responsible for its own recruitment and selection. We are looking for a skilled Endpoint Engineer and Systems Analyst Supervisor who will oversee ensuring the effective design, implementation, and maintenance of endpoint systems and IT infrastructure as well as application maintenance. This role will focus on optimizing endpoint performance, enhancing system capabilities, and delivering high-quality technical support. The supervisor will work closely with other teams to align endpoint solutions with organizational goals and ensure the security and efficiency of IT operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of endpoint devices, operating systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Proficient in systems analysis methodologies and project management principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • A valid driver's license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.
  • In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, the person selected must produce within three days of hire documents that show authorization to work in the United States. Examples of such documentation include a birth certificate or Social Security card along with a driver’s license or other picture I.D., or a U.S. passport, or a "green card".

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of endpoint engineers and systems analysts while fostering a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives.
  • Endpoint Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of endpoint devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Ensure the implementation of endpoint security measures and policies to protect organizational data. Monitor endpoint performance and implement enhancements to optimize user experience.
  • Systems Analysis: Lead systems analysts’ efforts to identify and address technical issues affecting endpoint performance and functionality. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for endpoint systems. Evaluate existing systems and processes, recommending improvements or new solutions as needed.
  • Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for endpoint-related issues, escalating complex problems as necessary. Ensure that the team delivers high-quality support to end-users and resolves issues efficiently.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of endpoint systems, configurations, and processes. Prepare regular reports on system performance, team activities, and project status for management review.
