By providing patients and internal and external stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, you’ll help ensure that patients at The Oregon Clinic Gastroenterology West Endoscopy Center receive the highest value care tailored to their needs. Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include: Clinical & Procedural Support Assist physicians during GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and other endoscopic procedures as assigned. Prepare procedure rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and instrumentation are available and functioning. Anticipate provider needs during procedures and respond promptly. Collect, properly label, and handle specimens in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards; ensure accurate patient identification and specimen verification processes are followed. Document procedural support activities, equipment use, specimen collection, and assigned care tasks accurately and in real time within the electronic medical record (Epic). Support efficient room turnover between cases. Endoscope Reprocessing & Equipment Care Perform cleaning, high-level disinfection, and storage of endoscopes and accessories in accordance with facility policy, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory standards. Document all reprocessing activities accurately and in real time. Conduct routine testing (e.g., leak testing) and identify equipment issues. Ensure proper handling, transport, and storage of scopes to prevent damage or contamination. Patient Care & Safety Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times. Follow infection prevention and control standards, including PPE use. Participate in time-outs and procedural safety checks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Operational & Administrative Support Stock rooms and supply areas; notify leadership of low inventory. Assist with environmental cleaning between cases. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and competency validation activities. Support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the departments and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous Endoscopy Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant experience is strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty GI experience is a plus!
