Requirements

• 3 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician
• Basic Life Support from AHA upon start
• Associate's Degree
• The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates - Advanced Associate's Program Completion

Responsibilities

• Participates in the recruitment/hiring process of new staff
• Coordinates orientation of new team members and continuing education of current staff.
• Identifies and directs in-services and education to enhance team member clinical expertise. Including, but not limited to in-services related to endoscopy equipment, supplies, procedures and process per Inova policies, SGNA best practice and equipment/supply IFUs.
• Assist in identifying and implementing quality and performance improvement projects/programs to enhance clinical outcomes and efficient operations.
• Coordinates with physicians for procedure needs along with supplies for case readiness.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary communication regarding case and service requirements.
• Chairs Service Team Meetings with staff.
• Acts as a clinical leader and resource in Endoscopy Suite.
• Mentors team.
• Understands, incorporates, and coaches team members on SGNA, TJC, and other professional and regulatory standards into clinical practice.
• Utilizes and reinforces correct understanding of intraoperative outcomes.
• Creates, with supervisor, a self-development plan related to professional goals.
