Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Endoscopy Technician I (ET I) supports basic, diagnostic and/or therapeutic endoscopic procedures at rural, community, large and trauma facilities. This entry-level role ensures safe and effective care during procedures such as Colonoscopy, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Tracheostomy/Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) Placement, Enteroscopy, basic Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT), Food Impaction Removal, Bravo Capsule Placement, and EndoFLIP. Interventions may include polypectomy, biopsy, dilation, cauterization, variceal banding, stent placement, overtube use, foreign body removal, and Hemospray application for GI bleeding. The ET I may be required to take independent call and assist with urgent or emergent cases. This role contributes to system-wide Surgical Services initiatives and actively participates in the Endoscopy Team Safety Plan. Posting Specifics Pay Range: $19.31 - $26.22/hour (depending on experience) Benefits Eligible: Yes (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and many more benefits) Shift Details: Part-time, 20 hours/week. 3-4 days/week with call requirements Department: Endoscopy Lab, Logan Regional Hospital Essential Functions Performs all aspects of patient care for entry-level, diagnostic, and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, adhering strictly to safety protocols and organizational policies. Assembles, prepares, and sets up equipment and supplies according to procedure type and provider-specific requirements; accurately navigates ProVation for image capture and documentation. Assists with procedure room turnover and ensures emergent equipment is either sent to sterile processing or appropriately reprocessed in-room for subsequent use. Maintains procedural safety by managing supplies and equipment and ensures proper handling and safeguarding of tissue and specimen samples. Responsible for sharps and specimen safety; actively participates in time-outs and all safety protocols, consistently applying Zero Harm error prevention techniques. Practices strict infection prevention and high-level disinfection standards, including point-of-use cleaning; may assist with sterile processing of instruments and scopes per manufacturer guidelines. Operates specialized equipment and mobile towers proficiently in various procedural settings, including ICU and OR. Anticipates the needs of the provider, RN, and patient, demonstrating initiative and responsiveness within the scope of endoscopy technician practice. Prepares equipment and supplies urgently and efficiently for emergent procedures and assists with post-procedure room clean-up. Transports inpatients safely and efficiently to and from multiple departments throughout the facility.
