About The Position

The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch IAED ProQA system and dispatching the appropriate resources. The Dispatcher-EMT will utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio communications system, and telephone system to communicate with units in the field, update their status on assignment, and ensure the safety of all personnel.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED.
Must be 18 years of age.
Driver's License
This position requires superior communication skills and customer service skills.
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (Required)
APCO BTC or State-approved equivalent Certification (Required)
IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification (Required)
Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification (Required)
Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification (Required)
ICS - 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

1-3 years of previous dispatch experience related experience in firefighting/EMS
PHTLS/ITLS (Preferred)
