About The Position

The Employee Relations Intern, reporting to the Employee Relations, Sr. Director, will gain hands-on experience in workplace investigations, AI applications, and cross-functional collaboration. Based on the nature of the work, the Intern will be exposed to multiple internal teams within Human Resources, Enterprise Risk and Legal and other cross-functional partners as listed below. They will gain insight into how we create and execute on challenges our employees face, encompassing multiple types of workplace environments and experiences across Retail, Services, Supply Chain, and Corporate. This internship also will give you the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees and explore a wide variety of career paths. This internship will be available from June to August 2026. It is a hybrid role, meaning you must be located within a drivable distance to our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You will be asked to come into the office 3 days per week. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. Housing will not be provided. What you’ll do

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2026 and spring 2029
  • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time Zone)
  • Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Minneapolis Corporate Campus – 7601 Penn Ave South Richfield, MN 55423
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Analytical skills including the ability to interpret data/information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated participation in project work or project leadership
  • Currently majoring, minoring or attending courses of study in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Human Capital and Society, Communications, or related field
  • Experience with MS Excel and MS Forms
  • Demonstrated natural curiosity and eagerness to learn, with a proactive approach to exploring new ideas and solving problems
  • Previous experience with AI technology

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building AI capabilities for workplace investigations.
  • Assist the ER Case Management Leadership team in analyzing quality audit trends and recommending skill-building initiatives
  • Audit, organize, update, and archive internal knowledge materials in collaboration with the ER Case Management Leaders
  • Participate in on-the-job training for conducting workplace investigations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and HR partners to seek perspectives and answers to key questions
  • Engage in team-building activities to foster collaboration and teamwork
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay active and engaged in internal team news, developments and projects
