What You’ll Do As the Employee Relations and Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in supporting a positive workplace environment by leading employee relations efforts, planning engagement initiatives, and helping position the College as an Employer of Choice. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for: Employee Relations Planning, developing, interpreting, and implementing employee relations programs for the College. Serving as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters. Conducting thorough, objective investigations into employee complaints, concerns, and grievances. Partnering with supervisors and managers to develop appropriate corrective action plans, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions. Counseling employees on human resources processes and employee relations matters. Providing guidance to managers and supervisors on best practices in employee relations and effective team management. Ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws while helping departments mitigate employment risks. Supervisory and Leadership Providing supervision and direction to staff to ensure Human Resources and College priorities are met. Overseeing Human Resources functions related to grant-funded positions. Managing team performance, providing coaching, feedback, and support to ensure effectiveness and professional growth. Hiring, supervising, and evaluating team members. Training staff to assist with employee relations matters as they arise. Employee Engagement Designing and implementing strategies that strengthen employee engagement and overall workplace satisfaction. Developing programs and initiatives that support a positive and collaborative work environment. Planning and coordinating engagement activities, including team-building events, social gatherings, and wellness initiatives. Partnering with other departments to support employee engagement initiatives. Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in a related major from a nationally accredited college or university; and Five years of responsible human resource administration, project management, training, employee relations or other human resource related experience. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of interpersonal, analytical, and managerial traits. This includes the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and to solve problems. They know how to work independently but can also thrive in group settings. Additionally, they have knowledge of employment law and are resourceful. Preference given to candidates with prior experience in higher education.
