About The Position

The Employee Health Specialist is responsible by way of the nursing process for assessing and planning the care and treatment required to meet the needs of the injured/ill employee. Acts a liaison to customers, and coordinates with the third party administrator of self funded W/C. Assumes ownership of the exposure control plan and immunization programs. Provides education to the customer and does case management. Demonstrates service oriented apporoach when dealing with all customers. Participates in the perfomance improvement activities on a continuous basis and the corporate compliance program. Supervises the Employee Health Nurses, EH Associate and other staff as indicated.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Active license to practice nursing in the state of Florida
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience
  • Demonstrated competency in the nursing process and nursing techniques
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Strong decision-making skills under conditions of ambiguity
  • Proactive approach to professional development and job-related training

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) Certification
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in Occupational Health
