About The Position

The Employee Health and Education Nurse is responsible for coordinating various surveillance screenings and immunization programs for employees at Appling Healthcare. Nurse also assist Education Director with education tracking and implementation.

Requirements

  • An active LPN license in the State of Georgia.
  • Proficient with giving vaccines and administering Tuberculosis testing.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years experience as an LPN preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Meditech preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates various surveillance screenings and immunization programs for employees.
  • Responsible for new hire onboarding tasks related to Employee Health such as Tuberculosis screening, Fit Testing, vaccinations, and assisting with assigning required education.
  • Responsible for maintaining Employee Health documents up-to-date and organized.
  • Identifies process improvements to screening programs and presents ideas to the direct supervisor.
  • Orders supplies for surveillance screenings and immunization programs.
  • Identifies work-related risks and works to correct/prevent additional risks.
  • Develops and delivers educational efforts that enhance employee awareness of their health and safety both on and off the job.
  • Coordinates care for employees who are injured or sick on the job.
  • Working with Infection Control to identify potential sources for disease outbreak and works to reduce the likelihood of those outbreaks occurring.
  • Administers vaccinations for employees during the onboarding process and on an annual basis to ensure immunizations are up-to-date.
  • Hosts vaccine clinics to staff when vaccines are available, including seasonal vaccines such as the Influenza vaccine.
  • Tracks staff vaccines and boosters.
  • Administers Fit Tests to staff during onboarding, annually, and as needed.
  • Collaborates with HR to schedule staff annuals and onboarding of new hires.
  • Communicates with employees about upcoming Employee Health events via email and other forms of communication.
  • Assists with updating Employee Health Policies and Procedures.
  • Works together with each department manager and Medical Staff to ensure ongoing employee health and educational needs are met.
  • Collaborates with all departments and disciplines in order to maintain and improve the Employee Health program.
  • Plans to develop and expand the Education Department by maintaining vision of proposed changes and additions to existing programs.
  • Assists in keeping Educational Profiles on all system personnel.
  • Provides resources to Hospital Staff as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
